Half-up straight hairstyle for African American women

The upper section of long black hair is done up, while the rest are allowed to fall down the back. The straightened African-American hair is not really pin-straight, which is suitable for this style. A half-pony is gathered at the back of the head. A section at the crown has been worked into a pouf, by backcombing or teasing hair, then smoothing it back down into a bump and securing with pins. The height produced can then be set with hairspray. This gives an elegant aspect to the look, while the tail is really just to showcase the beauty of long, vibrantly black hair.
