WEDDING DAY HAIR

Ask any bride: when it comes to hair, there are many factors to consider on your wedding day. Will the chosen hairstyle resist ‘mother nature’s’ sweet surprises; rain, winds, humidity. Triple ugh! If your hairstylist is truly a professional, they’ll know exactly how to create a style that will survive even the peskiest conditions, not to mention a night full of hugs, dancing and that drunken family member who won’t stop trying to squeeze you. Perhaps mother nature is one thing you can’t control on your wedding day, but there is one thing you can, the condition of your hair.

Many people pay so much attention to the hair style itself that they often overlook the hair’s quality. If you’re soon ready for a haircut or trim, no better time than before the wedding but not JUST before the wedding day unless your hairstylist is one you’ve worked with on numerous occasions and they know just how much to take off.

Natasha Sunshine, Lead Stylist at Byu-ti Salon in California, ensures hair like Goli’s in the upper left photo and just above with her husband Josh, looks great with no split ends and straggles. For hairstyles of the longer variation, it’s even more important to ensure your hair is as its healthiest state on that special day. For an incredibly romantic look with the hair pulled back, flowers are placed in this gorgeous hairstyle, which compliments the back of Elizabeth’s stunning dress. Again, this style is compliments of Natasha Sunshine at Byu-ti Salon.

If your tresses are either too dry or too oily, there are remedies for that. Years after the wedding, no one wants to look at the photographs thinking ‘my gosh…why didn’t anybody tell me…” Take a look at yourself in the mirror. Is your hair thirsting for moisture or slicks back without the help of products; either one of these scenarios stands for a serious hair turnaround with the right kind of treatment. Before you go in for a style session, sit with your hairdresser to have her assess the condition of your locks and start from the roots to the tip rebuilding healthy hair.

Even a woman’s hair can thin; if you have spaces at the sides of your forehead from years of pulling it back into a ponytail, no one is suggesting you get a hair transplant, but you may want to reconsider pulling your hair tightly back on your wedding day. Don’t be afraid to explore the many hairstyle possibilities and remember that hairstylists can create spectacular ways to give the illusion of more hair with extensions and other various means. Patrick Cameron’s lovely wedding hairstyle seen above is simple and perfect for an early day time wedding. There isn’t too much fuss about it yet it still allows the bride to shine. Her hair is pulled forward towards the side of her face lending volume and the illusion of fuller hair.
