When it comes to shopping, I'm just as much a girly girl as any other but I do have my favorite things to shop for, especially around the holidays. We choose our outfits for special occasions, we obsess over our hairstyles and accessories but what about the little details that seal the entire package together perfectly, such as hair products, make up and nail polish? I've been known to pay little attention to my makeup when attending special occasions because generally I've been told I didn't need any and mostly I've just never enjoyed the fuss of deciding which lip or eye color to wear. When I realized that exploring with various hair products and cosmetics could be fun, I haven't looked back and take absolute pleasure in decorating my complete self.When I first saw the sample box at the office with the words I LOVE HEAD staring me right in the face, my mouth dropped and I thought ‘what could possibly be in there?’; Once I unveiled the contents, I immediately stopped thinking dirty and started thinking clean-very clean; Shampoos, conditioners, and some serious styling products were ours to discover. Head Organics prides itself in being a ‘green’ supporters dream. Free of harsh detergents and polluting chemicals, their hair care line is %100 vegan and gluten free. If you are as clueless as I was before I started understanding some important hair terms, just know that Head Organics is on the ‘good side’! “Botanical extracts, essential fatty acids, glycerin, vegetable oils, natural proteins, coconut and vegetable based cleansers” are at the foundation of this great brand. Each hair product from the shampoo to the conditioner to the gel or the paste, does exactly what it promises and leaves hair looking superb. And just a quick product plug- the Natural Styling Wax is OUTSTANDING in my bf’s hair. It was so controlled yet movable, touchable and not stiff but it stayed in place though he wouldn’t let me touch it much...The cost of these products are C.H.E.A.P. which is why I can appreciate them in this tight economy. The Natural Styling Wax is $13.50 USD for 2 oz. but the gel is only $4.50 USD for 2 oz. You’re bound to find something you love from this line. I can now say straight faced that I too, love head! Products can be found at salons, spas, and beauty supply stores.
Poor nails-they are so neglected in winter months, are they not? Most people cannot bother to paint their nails or maintain their color when fingers and toes are all covered up but O.P.I. makes nail color exciting enough to extend open toe shoe season a little bit longer. Whenever I write about O.P.I., I honestly ask myself if I am telling readers anything NEW! I love them I love them I love them!! There, I repeated myself for the umpteenth time, but this time, I love their Holiday Wishes collection and specifically the one I have on my fingers right now. Crimson Carol- redder than red with little specks of sparkle, this color screams Christmas. Not a fan of long colored nails but this on my shorter nails adds the right amount of oomph to finish off any holiday look. Find the color for you online at opi.com or selected salons.
Ok admittedly I only have two products from Macs amazing seasonal collection but if I had a hundred, and could only pick two, these might be in the ranking: Mineralize Blush in Conjure Up and Dazzleglass for lips in Phiff! When I tried on the blush, I was brought back to a time where my summer tanned skin made a plum-like shade POP. Given that my tan is long gone with summer, I had to lighten it up some and I simply removed the initial few strokes with a Kleenex; presto, gooooor-geous.
With a little lip color, like Dazzleglass Phiff I was rockin. The peachy shimmer combined with the light plum was a really pretty shade for the colder months. I would definitely buy these for myself or as a holiday gift...nahhhh..myself! These products and thousands more are worth a visit to your nearest Mac store.
