GOING ANYTHING BUT DARK FOR THE SUMMER

Summer is here and you want to go darker on your skin but lighter on your hair. These gorgeous hairstyles by George Giavis at the GEORGE GIAVIS SALON in Australia are sure to inspire you. Delicious blondes, hints of red and various shades of highlights may enthuse you to make an appointment at your nearest salon. It’s not permanent and lasts just as long as you want it to; so fear not dark haired friend, and get ready to embrace your hair’s lighter roots.
Understandably, going from super dark to super light could be a challenge for anyone; to avoid an adjustment shock, trying something with deep hues of brownish- reddish auburn can ease you into accepting your new color. This gorgeous look on the left is deep and still dark yet lighter than browns and blacks; an absolutely gorgeous shade for warmer weather. The healthier the hair, the better the color reflects and stays on the hair so be sure to trim all split ends before you use a hair lightening product.

Mmm yummy highlights. For the weary about going too blonde too fast, go lighter gradually with highlights. It's the most popular way to lighten up for summer without dying the entire head of hair altogether. Not to mention, it looks more sun kissed than sun drenched which can be great for those of us who just want a touch of sexy color.

Choosing to go red is a whole other aspect of going lighter altogether. Sexy, sassy and exudes complete confidence - red is definitely a great change for summer. If you're concerned about your new lighter hair but still super dark eyebrows, have your stylist suggest a lighter color that is more suiting to your new look. You'll look a lot more natural this way and with a little summer color on your skin, you'll be turning heads in no time!

This look has to be one of my favorite blondes. Would I be daring enough to go from my chocolate brown to this? Perhaps with a bit of arm twisting and an absolutely fabulous hairstylist like George Giavis himself. Notice the models eyebrows are not the lightest tone of her hair, but slightly darker which would lend a very natural look. Her curls are big and reflect every color in her hair. If you want to go bold, this could be a great change for you.

Blonde blonde! That's what this is! Hard to imagine some people go from black to this but they do, and in some cases it looks fabulous. Christina Aguilera has done this on more than one occasion and can be used as an example on how one can even look much better with super light hair than super dark. For the much more daring, this look is gorgeous and a major change for the warmer months if you want something drastic.
