Ouidad’s philosophy claims to be simple: “less is more”. When I first read the following blurb about Ouidad’s mission for curly heads, I was unashamedly all too eager to try it out. “Our mission is to help you learn to love your curly hair and appreciate what a blessing it is to have” I’m all for that! My hair is often one big unruly, wild ringlety, confusing, frizzy mess and I had yet to discover a product that would seriously whip my locks into shape; every mousse, gel, serum, pomade, you name it, I tried it.
So I decided to go all out and use various Ouidad products step by step: Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo ($15.00 USD for 8 oz.), followed by Curl Quencher Moisturizing Conditioner ($17.00 USD for 8 oz.) followed by Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel ($22.00 USD for 8 oz).
I’m a huge salsa dancing buff and one club I frequent leaves my hair looking like I’ve spent a month in a tropical rain forest with absolutely no hair products in sight but a teasing brush. I knew if my hair could stand the test of this Latin fiesta, I’d be sold. Well…
I was sold! I spun my hair into a frenzy and still the curls stayed calm- man oh man did they dry amazing and I was so happy with the compliments I received. It’s not a necessity to use the entire product line to achieve amazing hair but it sure helped in my case to have products that were all pro curl. The shampoo and conditioner felt great in my hair and smelled wonderful. My hair was really soft after I rinsed but I must admit I left a little bit of conditioner in to minimize dryness. The gel however, was my favorite find; a bit pricey perhaps but sooo worth the purchase, trust me. If you’re anything like me, you’ve already spent a ridiculous amount of money on cheaper brands that only served to disappoint. But with Ouidad Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel, you’ll actually need less of it to achieve fantastic results.
