BEER FOR HAIR AND OTHER TRICKS THAT WORK

Whether your response is ‘ew, beer’ or ‘mmm beer’, the reaction to ones hair is a universal appeal. I used to hear all this so called ‘malarkey’ putting beer in my hair to add volume but only a couple of weeks ago at a friends house did I put myself to the test to explore this rubbish. As it turned out, this rubbish was trueish and not only did I love the hair bounce, my hair didn’t reek like my most dreaded alcohol stench. How does this work? Because beer is acidy, it cleans your hair by removing previously used product residue. The Hops and Yeast help to swell the hair shaft and plump the cuticle, which adds volume. The trick is to put a bottle (yes a whole bottle of it) once you’re done shampooing and massage beer into every strand -leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly afterward so your hair doesn’t retain the scent. A great trick to tame frizzy hair lines and baby hairs is to stop using a comb and your fingers and start using a toothbrush. This isn’t exactly a ‘secret’ to most but surprisingly many people don’t think of it. An old toothbrush you’re about to toss in the trash can be saved and reused if the bristles are still somewhat intact. Spray it with a fine mist of spray and lightly comb unruly hairs. It will hold hair better than pomades or gel. If you’d rather not lug around a bottle of hairspray to keep hairs under control, use clear mascara instead on its regular brush. This too does wonders but beware of mascara brush not curling around your hair and pulling it OUT of place.

Put your hair up in a very high pony tail and small chunk by small chunk, start curling hair IN the ponytail. Once every section is done, release ponytail holder, flip hair over and spray with either Bohemian Beach Spray or Bumble and Bumble sea spray for extra volume. Big bouncy sexy hair is all yours in no time!
