Hi there :] I really need some help making a decision about my short hair. I usually grow it out pretty long and then cut it really short but this time I'm thinking I want to keep it short. Unfortunately, I have extremely thick and wavy hair (I'm Greek ;]). The hairdressers always think I'm crazy when I ask them to cut it that short. So I have to straighten it every day. The problem is that I want it short so it's easier to manage and I won't HAVE to straighten it. I was wondering if there's anything I could do to make it easier? Like, would permanently straightening it work so I may only have to straighten it a little bit? Because most of the short hairstyles seem to require fine, thin hair. One of the styles I was looking at getting was this one: http://www.hairstylesdesign.com/gallery/short_hairstyles_3018.php I know it would take work but I was wondering if I may be able to pull something like that off. I have really dark brown hair and a square/oval face. I'm just worried about the THICK hair thing... is there anything I can do about it or styles that may work? Feedback is much appreciated :]

Hi there Kookookachoo, thanks for writing. Have you ever heard of a "Brazilian Keratin hair treatment" ? If not you should look into it, it's specifically created for crazy thick hair that needs straightening for much longer than a few weeks. The downfalls are it's expensive the up side is you don't have to straighten hair every day causing severe damage. you do realize you're causing severe damage to your hair right? Ok..just saying... You will need to find out what salons do the hair treatment and what sorts of short term/long term consequences they may have. I know we often want the opposite of what we have, but when something goes wrong we regret it big time. Look into your options before you commit and try to lay low on the straightening even if your hair is short. you can always keep it curly and find a way to discover some hot new curly haired products that will bring your sexy curls to life!
